My voice lashed out, sharp and unforgiving. My chest heaved, fists trembling. I didn't mean it. I didn't mean any of it. But the words were out, irreversible.
Akansha froze, her wide, tear-filled eyes locked onto mine.
"You don't trust me?" she whispered, her voice barely holding together. "I did it for you. They sai-" Her voice broke, a lone tear slipping down her cheek.
My heart twisted painfully.
"You should have asked me!" I roared, my knees giving out as I crashed onto the cold marble floor. My hands clutched my chest, as if trying to hold my breaking heart together.
"You should have FUĆKING ASKED ME!"

My phone slipped from my grasp, hitting the floor with a dull thud. The words blurred as my vision swam with tears.
No. No. No.
My breath hitched, my body trembling violently.
This can't be him. This can't be real.
"NO!" My scream shattered the silence. My knees buckled, and I collapsed, sobs wracking my body.
The last thing I ever said to him-those cruel, unforgivable words-replayed in my mind.
I never got to take them back.
And now... I never would.
